Lionel Messi, the Argentine captain, gained his title as the Ballon d’Or winner due to his exceptional performance during the World Cup in December. He scored an impressive seven goals to lead his team to an unforgettable victory. After the World Cup, Messi left Paris Saint-Germain in a record-breaking deal to join Miami. Although Miami was struggling and at the bottom of the league, Messi’s arrival quickly made an impact. Back in September, Miami made it to the finals of the US Open Cup but unfortunately ended up losing to Houston Dynamo. During the MLS regular season, Messi only managed to play in six games as he suffered from injuries and had international duties to attend to. Despite this setback, he was able to score a goal and provide two assists in those limited appearances. Currently, Messi and his teammates were gearing up for a quick trip to China where they were supposed to play two friendly matches. However, due to unexpected circumstances, the tour had to be cancelled.
NSN, the tour organizer, has stated that they have decided to cancel the tour as a mark of respect for the Chinese officials after the recent demise of Li Keqiang, who was the former second-ranking leader of the country and served as the top economic official for ten years.
