The midfielder joins the Citizens shortly after Ilkay Gundogan’s departure to Barcelona.
City issued a video on social media showing their new player wearing next season’s kit.
The ex-Real Madrid ace went on to strike a few poses with a big smile on his face.
The Croatian international travels to the Etihad after agreeing to a £30 million deal with the Blues, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, City offered the 29-year-old a deal for £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
The Croat signed a four-year agreement with Pep Guardiola’s team.
Kovacic said: “This is a brilliant move for me.
“Anyone who has watched this team under Pep knows how good they are – for me, they are the best in the world.
“To be joining this squad really is a dream for any footballer”.
After initially joining Chelsea on loan from Real in 2018, Kovacic later committed to a long-term contract.
In 221 appearances at Stamford Bridge, the former Inter Milan player went on to record a total of six goals and 15 assists.
